The Orleans Historical Society is a small local history museum on Cape Cod preparing to start a capital campaign for growth and stability. The Operations Manager assists the Executive Director to ensure the museum operates efficiently. Responsibilities include administrative office support, visitor services, event/program management, some exhibition curation/installation, and oversight over the membership program and volunteers. Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite required, as well as experience with databases such as PastPerfect or similar. Working knowledge of WordPress a plus. The ideal candidate will be a well-organized professional who enjoys taking on a challenge, a quick-learner who manages time wisely and displays efficiency and independence, is able to multi-task, and can work in a positive team environment in a fast-paced two-person office with an active board and volunteer base. Must be detail-oriented and have good writing skills. A Bachelor's Degree in museum studies, public history, non-profit management or relevant field and work experience. The position is part-time up to 21 hours a week and includes most Saturdays during the season. This is a position that can grow and expand with the right initiative.
